Info
This is the course
that messes with the mind when the climb begins again and your legs go,
“put it in the granny” you look down and you have no more gears to use… and
you want the next feed station, the next reward of a downhill ride to
rest. This is an awesome course to measure up yourself and your
riding partners and buddies...It is stocked at the aid stations for your
use... Don’t worry
about racing at this point, you just want find your game and finish to
accomplish one of the hardest things you have ever done…”
Mtn biking a “divine
invention” This course is your intervention.
To let you in a
something special about us, we wait for you, on group rides, and in this
event, our volunteers will stay put till you pass them, your peace of
mind are concerns as on any ride. We will support you to the end, and
clap as you come across the line.
We want you to
come and test your metal, see what you are capable of. We want to
ride with you, and share our experiences… After all isn’t that what riding
is all about, challenging yourself up the next hill, clearing that
elusive obstacle, riding with friends, riding someplace new, seeing the
terrain, viewing the wildlife... Just a little info about the race…In years
past there was a race, called the “Bearlodge Fat Tire Challenge”, the race
promoter(s) did this race for around 10 yrs, The Fat tire disappeared, and
us cubs’ not affiliated with old boar bears… decided to bring back the
race, We have done the Bearlodge race for the last
5 years, and we wanted a
simpler name hence the Bearlodge Mtn.
Classic.
Funds received for
registrations help pay, for the maintenance of the trails, in securing
tools. And for extra insurance costs etc.. as needed for putting on the race…
We also use the
funds to allow new riders, the opportunity to race or ride in other areas
or events. See Association News. These funds are also used to purchase
prizes for the Sundance Community Bike Rodeo. We also donate to our
local daycares, and other non profits, when funds are available. This
event is a fundraiser for the goals and our mission statement. Come be with
us…After all this just big group ride is it not…though we feed ya and sag ya along the
way….Now how often does that happen on a ride…See you soon.

of it” quote by A.W.

Epic Challenge Course, This is a 22 mile test for the
men and women of your skills, and also of your metal… With the beginner
course thrown in with additional technical singletrack in South Fork, again
additional stream crossings, with a lot of climbing; this is a classic
course.
As listed in
the map and general description a lot of climbing and a lot of descending.
This is the endurance race you look forward to.
Epic Challenge course rules: There will be 5 hr
time limit for the Challenge Course, That for most
riders means you must average 5 mph to finish. There is a lot of climbing
but time can be made on the descents.. The cut off
times will be posted at the Feed Stations. Race Marshals will have the only
and final say DNF OR MF (Mechanical Failure)… Catch a ride come for food
and support your riding buddies, because they will need all your
assistance……
We also want everyone to enjoy the food
and prizes at a reasonable time, including the
volunteers because they will be the last ones down …At least you won’t have
to walk far in this epic if you do break down.
We also have been told it is more physically challenging than the Dakota 50 and
hence it is a great test to see where you sit at the end of summer.
Challenge course, is an
approximate 14 mile
course, it has a lot to offer any rider. It has plenty of singletrack, rock
gardens, and tons of great views, some people ride the course just for the
sheer fun, of going up getting refreshment and heading back down. It is a
fun ride and will let you know where you sit in any shape or form. It will
help you become a better rider. Not so much an endurance test but
good ride…
Cubs Challenge Course is a 8.9 mile ride, up to the
Sandpit rd, and down the Edge to the turn around and then back up Sandpit
to Reuter to the finish. It is for Cubs, though, any parents and any adults
may ride the course, very little singletrack..Web page for elevation to come soon. Cubs riders will leave 10 minutes after main fields
start.
